Looking for a way to cool down in the summer heat? The long-awaited Verdun Beach has finally opened!
Better late than never!
This new Montreal beach has been worked on for the past two years. It was slated to open last year but couldn’t due to a mandatory evaluation regarding the impact it would have on the ecosystem.
All You Need to Know About the Verdun Beach
The urban beach, just waiting to be discovered, is situated just behind the Verdun Auditorium, close to Wellington St. The beach is connected to bike paths making it easily accessible.
What are you waiting for? Have a fun day at the beach – go swimming, play in the sand, have a picnic. You can even play volleyball!
There are changing rooms and a nearby food truck, for your convenience.
The beach cost $5-million, which is $1-million more than the estimated cost.
No partying, smoking, drinking, or pets allowed on the beach.
