Tropical Cyclone Statement Issued For Montreal

We can expect up to 60 millimetres of rain by tomorrow morning. Tropical Storm Isaias is currently by New York City and is moving north-northeast, and will have be affecting Montreal and all of Southern Quebec, as well as New Brunswick.

The rain will intensify later this afternoon and this evening as remnants of hurricane Isaias approach, according to Environment Canada. We should expect heavy downpours which can cause flash floods and some flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Although we will be getting an update later this evening at 8:00 PM, this is the current situation of Tropical Storm Isaias:

It’s just west of New York City with maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometres per hour and is moving north-northeast at 55 kilometres per hour.

Tropical Storm Isaias will approach Quebec and New Brunswick tonight while making transition to a post-tropical storm.

Expect brief period of heavy rain will fall over parts of southern Quebec tonight, within 2 to 3 hours! And with that, wind gusts of about 50 km/h.
