Montreal’s Botanical Gardens was founded in 1931 and is made up of 190 acres of greenhouses and gardens!

Some of the most popular areas of the garden include the First Nations Garden, the Japanese Garden, and the Alpine Garden. With 10 total greenhouses and over 22,000 species of flora, you will get lost for at least a whole day exploring the grounds.

Did you know that Montreal’s Botanical Gardens are considered some of the best in all the world? That’s right! They have a talent showing the planet’s biodiversity as plants from every corner of the world are housed in the gardens.

Get out of your way a bit to see firsthand the special exhibits where designs from the Ming Dynasty are featured in the Chinese Garden.
Go a little further to experience zen living in the Japanese Garden. Take in the tropical plants, the cacti, bonsai, orchids, and so much more!
As the Montreal Botanical Gardens is near the Olympic Park, the Pie-IX (pronounced pee-neuf) metro station is closest to your destination. However, if traveling by car, there is parking available.
Admission to the gardens will also earn you a pass into the Insectarium. Be sure to save some time to get to know some of the insects from around the world that play a vital role in the ecosystem of our planet.

The gardens are open year-round, although some outdoor exhibitions may be affected by weather conditions.
