Spike Lee at Montreal International Black Film Festival

At the 14th Montreal International Black Film Festival 2018, acclaimed director Spike Lee will make his third appearance, next week. The festival runs from September 25 to 30.

Spike Lee won the Grand Prix du Jury for “BlackkKlansman” most recently, but has many other award-winning films to his name, including:

  • She’s Gotta Have It
  • Do the Right Thing
  • Jungle Fever
  • Malcolm X

Lee will appear at the Imperial Cinema on September 26. He’ll be discussing his successful and longlived career as a writer, actor, producer, and director in the event titled, “An Intimate Evening with Spike Lee.”

Lee will also provide great advice to aspiring filmmakers at the Montreal event.

Tickets are as low as $35! But, you can also get to a VIP meet and greet with cocktails for $150.

Montreal International Black Film Festival

Created by the Fabienne Colas Foundation, the Montreal International Black Film Festival features 72 films from 25 countries over the 6-day event!

The film festival opens on September 25 with “Obey,” at the Imperial. It closes with “Dead Woman Walking” also screening at the Imperial.

The festival will also the MIBFF Black Market, its first-ever kids program, as well as documentaries and other interesting screenings. The almost week-long event takes place in 4 different venues with varying admissioin prices.
