Spectrum Works Autism Job Fair in Montreal Back to Help!

Next week is the week for people with autism to strut their stuff to 17 or so of the top employers in Canada their skills to help get them employed through the Spectrum Works Autism Job Fair in Montreal!

This event is happening right across Canada, just in time for Autism Awareness Month. The goal is to get people on the autism spectrum to offer their strengths to the workforce in Canada.

It is the third time the Spectrum Works job fair is taking place. Organized by the Substance Cares in Toronto, the annual job fair gives people with ASD the opportunity to work because they have a lot to offer but are instead in a group with unemployment rates that are through the roof.

In fact, about 83% of adults with autism in Canada actually have no employment income. Sadly, while they have so much to offer, most rely on government assistance.

The organizers have some of the biggest companies in the country on site, represented by their hiring managers and recruiters. So, you can expect Apple, Bell, BMO, General Motors, HSBC, Loblaws, RBC, Rogers, and more!

There will be on-site job interviews, resume consulting, jobs skill workshops, employment consulting, as well as community service providers all open and available to participants.

Incentives for employers exist when hiring people with autism, and companies stand to gain in various ways, including productivity gains, from employing these individuals.

If you know someone on the spectrum, tell them about this amazing annual event in Montreal. They can register for free in advance.
