The ride-hailing service Uber is likely going to leave Quebec in October because of government regulations. This is what the government wants:

  1. Uber drivers to undergo 35 hours of training, like taxi drivers. Uber argues, “it is an attempt to impose old rules on a new technological model.”
  2. Drivers must have criminal background checks by police and not private companies.
  3. Annual car inspections of drivers.
