Finally, after 40 years, the plans to give Notre-Dame Street East are becoming a reality.
On Friday, Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante announced the new plans. These include making the busy street that’s blocked by trains and industrial buildings to be transformed into an urban boulevard with green spaces, a bike path and more accessible public transit.
Of course, this won’t happen overnight. The transformation will take about 8 to 10 years to complete and comes with a hefty price tag of about $1 billion.
