Montreal is No. 1 again!
Alright, so the Habs didn’t make the playoffs this year – there’s always next year, right? But, there’s good news that just might cheer you up. Montreal has been given its hard-earned recognition as a great sports city.
The Global Sport Impact (GSI) Canada Index, which checks and ranks the performance of cities that host national and international sports events has named Montreal Canada’s top-ranking sports hosting city!
The months to come will continue Montreal’s reputation as a few popular sports events, including the Rogers Cup, the ISU World Short Track Speed Skating Championships, and the Formula Grand Prix make their way to the city.
Yves Lalumière, the President of Tourisme Montreal said sporting events ‘result in significant economic, tourism and media benefits – all of which are important for the city’s future.’
