There’s a new neighborhood in Montreal!
The site that is 100,000 sq. m large and has been home to the Molson Brewery since 1786 will undergo a huge transformation. It will turn it into what is sure to become a hip and trendy neighborhood.
The plan is to have 4,000 homes in the new neighborhood, with green spaces and a school (they aren’t making the same mistakes developers made in Griffintown).
There will also be, according to plans, 200 residences set aside for affordable social housing.
Since the Molson site is a riverfront property that runs along the St. Lawrence River it will feature a riverside.
Molson Brewery Moving
Molson Brewery is moving to the South Shore of Montreal, but there will be some parts of the brewery that will be preserved for obvious reasons.
As soon as the plans are approved by city council, construction will begin. But, it new hip Montreal neighborhood won’t be completed anytime before 2035.
