One of the oldest neighbourhoods in North America, Old Montreal, celebrates the holidays with an exciting program of concerts, festivals and other exciting and fun entertainment. It’s Merry Montreal (Montreal en Fetes)!
It all starts on December 19th, and runs through Christmas, culminating in the city’s popular New Year’s Eve celebration to welcome 2020. The FREE Montreal en Fetes party is going to be at the Old Port of Montreal’s Jacques-Cartier Pier.
Montreal’s historic and picturesque Old Port has always been popular with locals and tourists, but now there are even more things to do in Old Montreal!

Visitors can enjoy a beer garden, an outdoor stage featuring performances from local artists, interactive installations and theatre shows — all of this is in addition to the area’s many boutiques, bars and cafes which will all be open for business as usual.
For many Montrealers, the highlight is the New Year’s party, which promises a line up of local bands, trucks serving festive food and drink, and of course, the chance to welcome 2020 in style.
All the events in Old Montreal are free, and it’s hoped that the 7th year of hosting this event will see the biggest and best Merry Montreal event yet.
