Doctors seem to be in the news a lot lately – like this one because she failed to keep up with her duties.
The Quebec College of Physicians recently suspended Dr. Sharon Dalrymple for two months for failing on 36 occasions to dictate her medical notes on time. She also got fines totaling $15,000. The doctor has been a practicing surgeon for 21 years at the Lakeshore General Hospital.
According to the College of Physicians, doctors must file the appropriate paperwork within one day of their surgical procedure.
In her defense, the head of surgery at LGH claims she hasn’t got the time, being so busy performing up to 350 surgeries yearly and working long hours.
