The numbers will shock you!
There’s been yet another mass shooting incident in the United States — this time in a school. The reports say that there were multiple victims at the high school shooting that happened at around 11 AM today in Santa Clarita, California.
So, far this year, not counting today’s mass shooting in the United States, here are the staggering statistics.
Gun violence is out of control in the US, which is something we can all agree on. But can you guess how many MASS SHOOTINGS there have been in the US in 2019? We bet you’d guess wrong because the numbers are shocking.
So far, from January 1, 2019 to October 31, 2019, statistics show that there were 376 mass shootings in the United States!
That equals to more than 1 mass shooting per day. And, 442 people died in the mass shootings, and about 1,490 injured.
How sad, especially when gun rights advocates argue that “the guns don’t kill people — people kill people.”
Some days there were even more than just one mass shooting nationwide. For example, on October 12, there were 5 — the same number of mass shootings on September 29 and on August 4. But the winners are July 28, June 1, and May 18, 2019 with a total of 6 mass shootings each in one day.
In all of 2018, there were 323 mass shootings, with 387 casualties and a total of 1,661 people shot.
So, looking at the numbers, it’s easy to see that the mass shootings, the number of injured people, and the casualties have gone up.
What is even more sad is that the mass shootings in the United States are so common that they don’t even make headline news anymore. What has this world come to?
What kind of world do we live in when mass shootings are a normal part of life?
