According to the weather forecast, there’s a special weather statement in effect for Montreal and areas on Thursday and Friday, February 5 and 6. Of course there is, it’s winter in Montreal.
The Environment Canada website states that the snow will begin by Thursday morning and that it can change to freezing rain overnight.
It’s definitely going to be a messy 48 hours if the system continues as it looks right now.
Considering the near-zero temperatures, the total snowfall is difficult to predict because the precipitation type may change. But, it’s likely going to more than 15 cm.
But, the Weather Network predicts up to 30 cm of snow for the same period!
After that’s all said and done, we’ll be heading in for a more seasonal, cold weekend before the milder temperatures return for the start of next week.
