The first Friday of each month in the summer returns to Montreal next week. It’s all about the Food Truck Festival that has people flocking to the mobile “restaurants” that gather in one area for what’s known as First Fridays Montreal.
First Fridays Montreal 2019 starts this week – May 3, from 4 PM to 11 PM. It’s a whole new event that’s longer and better. Why? The Salada Market not only features food trucks, but also DJs and artisan stalls in what was a tea factory, located on Côte de Liesse Road, just off Highway 40.
The tea factory closed in 2014 and was repurposed as a pop-up food hall, thanks to the Quebec Street Food Association. The building was also given a facelift by Maser, the Montreal street artist known for his work for the Mural Fest.
Among the newcomers is the Archibald Microbrasserie, who’ll be serving up beer along with the SAQ and the Mill Street Brewery.
Along with the meals on wheels is the Vice Glace, the Queue de Castor food truck.
Don’t sit around thinking about what to do. Get out and enjoy Montreal!
And, the old Salada tea factory is an ideal location to get those food trucks indoors for an extended season. So, they bring the food trucks indoors when they can’t bring the customers outdoors.
