Amtrak trains has announced that they will bring back their classic glass-domed railway service cars this fall. The classic cars will return to two scenic routes, including one connecting Montreal to New York.
Passengers will be able to ride a train built in 1955 with windows on all sides, even the ceiling, for a full panoramic experience.
This is the only glass service car of its kind which is still in service.
Travelers looking to go from Montreal to Albany or New York City will be able to take the glass train service for their trip from September 27th until November 2nd.
The train, originally built in 1955, was renovated in 1985 to be used for daily trips in the Washington and Orlando areas until 1994. Since then, the trains have been used sporadically for routes throughout North America.
Montrealers will get their chance to enjoy the scenic experience starting at the end of September. Train fares vary depending on dates and chosen route.
When: September 29 – November 2
