As the weather is proving to be more seasonal, most of us are itching for the hot summer days where we can soak up some sun and spend quality time outdoors, especially by the water. And what better place to do that than the Village au Pied-du-Courant?!
This is an amazing public space that gets reinvented EVERY YEAR, thanks to numerous teams of visionaries who support the project. The gorgeous park is an urban beach, nestled below the Jacques Cartier Bridge, opens on June 1 this year.
The Village au Pied-du-Courant opened to the public as an urban beach in 2014 – so this year is the 5th summer. There are lots of organized events to draw crowds and participation every year, including food trucks loaded with delicacies and live music. Alcohol can’t be brought to the site, but you can purchase alcohol from the bar.
It’s also a great place to take in the Montreal fireworks festival, too!
But, you can always bring your own food on site!
Plus, it’s a pet-friendly place! Just keep pets on a leash at all times.
The 2018 builders of the Village au Pied-du-Courant are giving their all in creating this urban space, including a beach library, a citrus forest, hammocks, and so much more.
Head on over and discover all this city park has to offer, but don’t forget your sunscreen!
